The sacrifice of Isaac.
Funerary inscription.
Roman oil-lamp with discus. Inv. 6266MB. Terracotta. Second century AD. Deneauve type VII A. From the Biscari collection. The lamp has a shallow oil reservoir, to which is attached a pierced handle. The central disc is bordered by an incised groove, and has an off-centre hole for refilling; the rounded shoulder is interrupted by the projecting nozzle. On the discus: crowned head of a female deity (Cybele?).On the base: C(aius) IVN(ius) DRAC(o).
Multiple-nozzled Roman oil-lamp (pentalykne). Inv. 6194MB. Terracotta. End of the first/second century AD. Bailey type K. From the Biscari collection. Oil-lamp with five fuel chambers and a pierced handle mounted over the central reservoir; two holes are provided for refilling. Traces of decoration on the shoulder. On the base: O Eraclio O Eraclio.
