CURSUS HONORUM
Male portrait. Inv. 202. Marble. Second half of the second century AD. From the Benedettini collection. Probable portrait of Marcus Aurelius (emperor 161-180 AD) as a youth, wearing a chlamys and a neck ornament. Partially restored.
Female portrait. Inv. 225. Marble. Second century AD. From the Benedettini collection. The style of the hair - a long plait wound into the form of a turban - recalls that of the Empress Faustina the Elder (100-140 AD, wife of Antoninus Pius).
