The exhibition Voices of Stone is the second element in the three-year programme of work-exchange at the Liceo Artistico M.M. Lazzaro. During the first year of the project, the students participated in the digitalisation of the catalogue of inscriptions in the Castle. Students from two classes undertook autopsy of the material, and carried out initial cleaning of the stones. This year, the project has focused on the creation of an exhibition of materials selected by Prof. Prag, with the participation of eight classes of diverse specialisations. The students undertook multiple activities, including: supervised cleaning and restoration of objects; drawing, painting and photographic documentation of the inscriptions; plaster reproduction of several texts for inclusion in a tactile-display; the production of graphics for the exhibition; and of thematic videos. The project has enabled a direct engagement with diverse professions and skills connected with cultural heritage, creating a new awareness and understanding of the sector for the students, which is the primary objective of the work-exchange programme in schools.
